About this notice

This notice describes the public Labmora website at labmora.com. Contact privacy@labmora.com about personal information or privacy requests. A school-specific deployment may have additional arrangements agreed with that school.

What happens when you use a simulation

You do not need an account, and the public app does not ask for student profiles. Experiment settings, notebook observations and free-text notes are held in the current page session. The app does not send those entries to a Labmora database. Refreshing or closing the page clears them; moving between experiments within the app preserves them.

CSV exports are downloaded to your device. You control where you store or share them. Please avoid entering student names, grades, health information or other sensitive personal details in a notebook.

Website requests and hosting

Opening a page sends ordinary request information to the hosting infrastructure, such as your IP address, browser information, requested URL and request time. The website is hosted on a server managed through xCloud. Server access and error logs may be used to operate the site, diagnose faults and protect against abuse. These are separate from notebook content.

Optional analytics

Optional analytics stay off unless you choose to enable them in Cookie settings. When enabled, Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) and PostHog can receive the page or experiment viewed, basic interaction categories, enquiry actions and general error categories. We exclude notebook text, contact-message text and personal details from these events. We do not use session recordings, advertising trackers or student profiles.

You can withdraw your choice from the footer without losing your notebook. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals keep optional analytics off. Analytics providers necessarily receive network requests when you opt in; processing can take place outside your country. See the cookies notice for storage details.

Messages you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any details you choose to include. We use this information to answer you, investigate a problem or discuss a school service. The contact-page composer prepares an email in your email app; it does not submit a web form or add you to a mailing list.

Why we use information

We use limited request data to provide and secure the website, and correspondence to respond to requests and manage relationships. Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, these activities generally relate to legitimate interests in running and protecting the service, or taking steps at your request towards a service agreement. Any optional marketing activity requiring consent must be handled separately.

Service providers and sharing

Hosting and email infrastructure process information needed to deliver their services. We do not use the public application to sell student information, serve behavioural advertising or create student profiles. We may disclose information where legally required or needed to investigate abuse. External reference links take you to sites with their own privacy practices.

Retention and location

Simulation notes remain only for the page session unless you download them. Support correspondence is kept for the enquiry and any necessary follow-up or record-keeping, then reviewed for deletion. Server-log retention follows the hosting configuration; contact us for the current operational details. Hosting and email processing may take place outside your country. Schools should request the applicable processing locations, retention periods and contractual safeguards before institutional deployment.

Children and classroom use

The public labs do not require a learner’s name, age, email address or account. Teachers and parents should guide children’s use and handle enquiries on their behalf. If a child’s personal information is sent to us inadvertently, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate. We do not claim that the existence of this notice establishes compliance with every school privacy requirement.

Your choices and requests

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of personal information, object to processing, or complain to a relevant data-protection authority. Email privacy@labmora.com with enough detail to locate the information. We may need to verify that a request relates to you. We cannot recover notebook entries that were never sent to us.

Changes

We will update this notice when the service or its data practices change. The date above identifies this version. See also our cookies and browser storage notice.
