Optional analytics are off by default. We do not use advertising cookies or session recordings. If optional analytics are available, you can accept or reject them with the same ease. Your choice does not limit access to any simulation.

Your saved choices

Cookie settings saves your analytics choice and its date in your browser for up to 180 days. An optional setting lets you exclude this browser from analytics, which is useful for staff and testing. These preferences are stored separately from notebook content. If your browser cannot save a choice, optional tracking stays off.

Optional measurement storage

When enabled and accepted, Google Analytics may use cookies whose names start with _ga to measure visits. PostHog uses a random identifier held in tab-session storage for basic event measurement; it is not connected to a student account. We do not send notebook entries or enquiry text to either service. Rejecting optional analytics stops future event collection and clears known analytics cookies and the tab-session identifier.

Notes and settings

Notebook entries and simulation settings live in page memory, rather than in a persistent account, cookie or browser local-storage record. Refreshing or closing the page clears them. The experiment URL and the library’s 2D/3D filter can appear in your browser history, but do not include your notebook content.

Downloads and browser caches

Your browser may cache images, scripts and other website assets to load pages efficiently. If you export a notebook, the resulting file stays on your device until you move or remove it. Browser caches and downloaded files are separate from a cloud student record.

Hosting and external links

The host receives ordinary website requests as explained in our privacy notice. Following an external reference or opening your email app brings that service’s own storage and privacy practices into play.

Your controls

You can clear website data through your browser settings and remove downloaded files from your device. Export useful observations before closing the page. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your analytics choice at any time. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals keep optional analytics off.
